Cundinamarca (Gyrola & Observatorio De Colibries)
You might think that in a metropolis like Bogotá, bird watching is almost impossible, however in Colombia, the country with the highest number of bird species in the world, this is not the case. Just a few hours away from the capital, it is possible to find truly incredible places with unique and amazing biodiversity. We will explore places close to the city with beautiful lodges, first-class service and some hundreds of beautiful birds and for sure, many hummingbirds!. You will experience an unforgettable perfect trip, especially for those who want a relaxed manner and easy pace bird watching time.
Because this is a Relaxed and Easy Tour (R&E), there is no physically demanding activity as the hikes will be on flat and open roads. If an interesting bird is found, then we might explore the interior of the forest or attempt to enter a trail for a very short distance. The day starts with breakfast usually at 6:30 am leaving to field around 7:00 am. On days when we are not driving, we will offer a midday break and a birding resume for a few hours in the afternoon. Every hotel gives you the choice to join the birding group or to stay enjoying the birds around as well as other attractions like pools, gardens, and trails among others. The tour is designed for beginners to intermediate bird watchers and those desiring a more relaxed pace. Here, birding is at the leisure of the clients’ wishes.
