PAYMENT AND DEPOSIT POLICY
In order to confirm the tour, a deposit of 30% of the total travel cost per person must be made. The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before the start of the tour. Failure to make payments within this timeframe could result in the cancellation of the tour. Payment of the total tour cost can be made in a maximum of three installments.
It’s important that when making the deposit or final balance payment, you inform us via email or phone, confirming the amount of money, attaching the payment receipt, specifying the payment method, the name of the payer, and the date of payment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be received in writing via email, and you should have received a confirmation email indicating that we have received your cancellation request. All canceled bookings may incur penalties or charges detailed below:
- For cancellations with 60 days or more notice prior to the tour start date, you have the following two options:
- You can receive a credit for your deposit towards a future trip, deducting the cost of airline tickets if they have already been purchased by the company (This credit is valid for one year from the date of cancellation).
- You can request a refund of your deposit minus a $200 USD per person administrative fee, the cost of airline tickets if they have already been purchased by the company, as well as any additional bank fees that your deposits may have incurred.
It’s recommended to purchase a travel insurance policy to cover your investment and health for your trip.
- For cancellations between 59 days and 35 days prior to the travel date, you have the following two options:
- You can receive a credit for your deposit towards a future trip, minus a $200 USD administrative fee and the cost of airline tickets if they have already been purchased by the company (This credit is valid for one year from the date of cancellation).
- You can request a refund of your deposit minus 20% (if the 20% is less than $200 USD, $200 USD will be deducted) of the amount per person for administrative fees, the cost of airline tickets if they have already been purchased by the company, as well as any additional bank fees that your deposits may have incurred.
It’s recommended to purchase a travel insurance policy to cover your investment and health for your trip.
- Cancellations within 34 days before the travel date:
- You may request a credit or refund of your deposit or full tour payment, but you will be required to pay 15% of this amount (if the 15% is less than $200 USD, $200 USD will be deducted) per person for administrative fees (this will be used to partially cover the costs associated with professional advice and operational costs), airline tickets if they have already been purchased by the company, hotel reservations or guides that the company has already arranged, as well as bank charges and fines from our suppliers at the destination as per the following information:
- In addition to the discounts mentioned above, an additional 10% will be deducted if the cancellation occurs between 34-30 days before the start date of the trip.
- In addition to the discounts mentioned above, an additional 20% will be deducted if the cancellation occurs between 29-25 days before the start date of the trip.
- In addition to the discounts mentioned above, an additional 30% will be deducted if the cancellation occurs between 24-19 days before the start date of the trip.
- In addition to the discounts mentioned above, an additional 50% will be deducted if the cancellation occurs within the last 18 days before the start date of the trip.

REFLECTION NOTE:
Please understand that these cancellation costs only compensate for the work of all the individuals organizing your trip, the time we have invested over days, weeks, and sometimes months of coordination, the people involved in your trip such as hotel reservations, tours, and transportation employees, weekdays set aside for your guides, cars, and drivers to ensure your trip, bank commissions for charging your credit card, and bank fees for sending your money as an international transfer. Additionally, the time we, your Manakin Nature Tours agents, dedicate. These cancellation percentages do not cover our commission, which we lose when a trip is canceled for any reason, including medical reasons, natural disasters, pandemics, and political impediments – all force majeure causes that both you and we are victims of. For this reason, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance; it is the option every traveler needs to protect their investment. We respect your choice if you decide not to invest in insurance, but we ask that you accept the terms responsibly at the time of cancellation.
