Day 1. Arrival to Bogota International Airport

Day 2. Sumapaz National Park, transfer Villavicencio (Paramo Ecosystem)

We will visit early in the morning one of the most beautiful natural parks in Colombia, Sumapaz National Park is close to Usme locality in Bogota. A park of 154.000 hectares that provide water to many municipalities around and an incredible diversity of life. The main target in this park is to enjoy the highland wetlands of eastern Andes, a paradise of life in where is possible to take amazing pictures of multicolour lakes, amazing aquatic birds as Bogota rail, Noble Snipe, Andean Teal Ruddy Duck ad others and a fantastic biodiversity of plants Puyas and Spelletias. In Sumapaz the low elevation are present all day, but also the opportunities to take fantastic pictures of birds and beautiful landscapes. In the afternoon we will transfer to Villavicencio city in eastern plains, in where we will rest in a nice hotel of the city.

Day 3. Bavaria Forest (Llanos Foothills)

We will visit some of the icons of conservation of biodiversity in Villavicencio City: Bavaria Forest, one amazing natural reserve of the humid tropical forest in llanos foothills in where we have the chance to see some special species of mammals, reptiles and birds, also amazing landscapes with very tall trees and raptors on the canopy. Some of the animals that will be possible in Bavaria Forest include Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth, Brown Capuchin Monkey, Squirrel Monkey, Tayra, South American Coati, Red-tailed Squirrel and some birds species as Gilded Barbet, Amazonian White-tailed Trogon, Yellow-tufted Woodpecker, Bare-eyed Thrush, Golden-headed and Striped Manakins, Black-faced, Scarlet, Turquoise, Speckled, Yellow-bellied and Burnished-buff Tanagers, Blue and Black-faced Dacnises, Purple and Green Honeycreepers, Blackpoll and Bay-breasted Warblers, White-vented and Golden-bellied Euphonias and Blue-naped Chlorophonias.

Day 4-6. Mururito Natural Reserve (Eastern Plains)

We will transfer to Mururito Natural Reserve in Puerto Gaitan Village, a long trip from Villavicencio (5-6 hours) in where we will have the chance to see animals on the road and enjoy the amazing ecosystem of llanos. Mururito is a private reserve of 2000 hectares that conserve the natural grassland of llanos and the areas of tropical, riparian and secondary forest. From 2008 the owners of the reserve sowed more of 10.000 trees that conserve animals that are possible to see in the reserve as Neotropical River Otter, Giant Otter, Hoffmann's Two-toed Sloth, Mountain Lion, Central American Ocelot, Jaguar, Llanos long-nosed Armadillo, Brazilian Porcupine, Giant Armadillo, Crab-eating (Savvana) Fox, White-lipped Peccary, South American Tapir, Northern Tamandua, Giant Anteater and many more, also many aquatic and savannahs birds, reptiles and amphibians. The reserve have lake with permanent water, amazing forest and savannahs, the possibilities to take pictures are really incredible and the nocturnal explorations are always a available.

Day 7. Mururito Natural Reserve, transfer Bogota (Eastern Plains)

We will search more fauna and flora in Mururito Reserve, after lunch we will transfer to Bogota city to rest in a nice hotel. This day will be a long trip, but with good chance to see other type of fauna on the road.

Day 8. Enchanted Garden, transfer to Paujil Natural Reserve (Magdalena Valley)

We will visit Enchanted Garden (The hummingbird House) in San Francisco; there we will take pictures of close to 16 species of hummingbirds that commonly come to feed; during the rest of the day we will travel to Puerto Pinzon (Boyacá) on route to El Paujil Natural Reserve, one of the last big conserved humid tropical forest of the Magdalena Valley and the best place to see the enigmatic and critical endangered Blue-billed Curassow. We will try to take the road to Puerto Pinzon in the last hours of the afternoon to have the opportunity to see some wonderful birds that include Blue and Yellow and Chestnut-fronted Macaw, Northern Screamer and many more.

Day 9-10. Paujil Natural Reserve (Magdalena Valley)

El Paujil natural Reserve is a wonderful private reserve created to conserve the habitat of many endangered species of the Magdalena Valley as Magdalena Spider Monkey (blue eyes), Blue-billed Curassow, White-mantlet Barbet, Beautiful Woodpecker and many more. This reserve with more of 3000 hectares of humid tropical forest is the house of an amazing biodiversity; we will be always around the Ermitaño River in where is possible sometimes to see Neotropical River Otter and other amazing animals; the night explorations are considering all days, in Paujil Natural reserve we have the chance to see nocturnal animals as Lemurine Night Monkey, Gray Fox, Kinkajou, Western Woolly Opossum and others; the reptiles and amphibian as Fer de Lance and Tree Frogs are another incredible experience.

Day 11. Paujil Natural Reserve, transfer Nevado del Ruiz (Central Andes)

We will search more animals and plants during all the morning in Paujil, after lunch we will travel to Caldas department, specifically in Nevado del Ruiz National Park, one amazing place of Paramo and Cloud Forest in Central Andes with a beautiful hotel with hot springs and maybe the best hummingbird feeders in all the country. You will enjoy at night the amazing pool with medical waters!

Day 12. Nevado del Ruiz National Park (Central Andes)

All day we will enjoy the amazing landscapes around Ruiz Volcano enjoying the amazing hummingbird feeders of termales hotel and the paramos and grassland of this beautiful place. Nevado del Ruiz National Park have a fantastic biodiversity of plants and birds specifically, in a wonderful day will be possible to see Andean Condor, Black-chested Buzzard Eagle or Buffy Helmetcrest, two charismatic species that will show you the splendor of this place. The hummingbird feeders are consider some of the best in Colombia, with species of hummingbird as Greater Sabrewing (the second biggest hummingbird in the world), Rainbow-bearded Thronbill, Shining Sunbeam, Purple-backed Thronbill and many more. At the final of the day we will transfer to Maniales city in where we will rest.

Day 13. Rio Blanco Natural Reserve (Central Andes)

This is a wonderful day with really good opportunities to take pictures of enigmatic Antpittas in Rio Blanco Reserve. The antpitta feeders of Rio Blanco are probably the most famous in Colombia, with 6 species coming just to 1 meter to your cameras. Brown-banded, Chestnut-crowned, Chestnut-naped, Bicolored, Slate-crowned and Undulated are the spscies that you will can enjoy and to take photo. Other interesting this is the amazing mix flogs that happen there, some of this with more of 35 species, a relay creasy to take pictures and shot without stops. We will go to see some nocturnal birds in Rio Blanco that include White-throated Screech-Owl, Rufous-banded Owl and the amazing Lyre-tailed Nightjar that sometimes poses fantastic for the cameras.

Day 14. Tinamou Natural Reserve, transfer Bogota (Central Andes)

In Tinamou Natural Reserve you will enjoy an incredible diversity of butterflies, birds, plants and some mammals; with tanager, hummingbird, antpitta and dove feeders you have chance to take amazing pictures and enjoy of many species. If we have good luck, we can see little tinamou walking of territory spots and some mammals as Central American Agouti, Grey Fox and Coati. At final of the day we will take a flight to Bogota city to finish this wonderful Photo Birding Tour.
